The 2015 American Music Awards nominees were announced on Tuesday morning (Oct. 13) on Good Morning America and Snapchat, and new artist Sam Hunt leads the way among the country nominees.

Hunt received a nod in the all-genre New Artist of the Year category, where he’ll battle it out against Walk the Moon, the Weeknd and others, as well as in the Favorite Male Country Artist and Favorite Country Album categories.

Luke Bryan is the only country artist vying for a win in the all-genre Artist of the Year category. The other nominees include Taylor Swift, One Direction, Sam Smith, Meghan Trainor and more pop stars. Bryan also received a nomination for Favorite Male Country Artist.

Jason Aldean is also up for Favorite Male Country Artist, as well as Favorite Country Album. Duo Florida Georgia Line are nominated for Favorite Country Album, for Anything Goes, as well; they’re also up for Favorite Country Duo or Group, along with the Zac Brown Band and Little Big Town.

Last, but not least, the ladies vying for Favorite Female Country Artist are Miranda Lambert, Carrie Underwood and newcomer Kelsea Ballerini.

Country-turned-pop superstar Taylor Swift is the most-nominated artist at the 2015 American Music Awards. Her name appears in six categories.

AMAs nominations are based on key fan interactions, including album and digital singles sales, radio airplay, streaming, social activity and touring. The winners are voted entirely by fans at AMAvote.com.

The 2015 American Music Awards will air live on ABC from Los Angeles’ Microsoft Theater on Nov. 22. Jennifer Lopez will host the event.
